Suicide

When a person takes their own life, it is not the desire of their spirit. The spirit will attempt to influence them away from that choice, but may not be able to overcome great determination or an impulsive act. Suicide may delay the timing of the next lifetime, but will also mean having to choose the same lessons again. Karma, as contained in some belief systems, applies to this lifetime and not to future lifetimes.
The Creator desires that all spirits, including those whose previous lifetime ended by suicide, experience success and will be given guidance in choosing their next lifetime. It is the spirit's fate that they have a certain amount of time to learn the lessons chosen for them. The reason for this earth, and the existence of humanity, is that the Creator desires that all spirits have the opportunity to develop to their full potential and to learn what cannot be fully learned in the spirit world.
When a spirit dies and does not commit suicide, they are welcomed by the Light and greeted by loved ones. They will then review every thought and memory of their lifetime, and, with the guidance of Masters, reflect on what they might have done differently. For every lesson successfully learned, they will gain in status; for those lessons presented but not successfully learned, they will lose status.
